Welcome to Artist Frank Hartley's Universe

Could it be that the universe, life and sentient man were not manifest by chance but through the wisdom of God embedded in the energy of creation and the metamorphosis?

Through the miracle of terrestrial telescopes photographs from outer space reveal the grandeur of galactic space and hint at the wisdom behind life’s crucible.

In retirement, the wonder in cosmologic images has inspired me to produce artistic interpretations of these images on canvas.

Who Has Fed Me? God has fed me.   

I am from the crucible of the stars, the cosmic furnace. The erupting supernovas feed dust to the cosmos and eventually aggregate into planets, which in turn feed on the water from comets. Lightning torches the agglomeration of hydrocarbons and the prelude to life.      
I am from this soup, sustained by this soup and return to this soup.
